A practicing therapist in North Carolina, Joanna began her writing journey with her novel, Sinai Unhinged, a thriller rooted in science. She should have known screenwriting was in her future because, as she wrote that novel, it was a movie that played in her head.

Her career as a therapist (which relies on making conversations interesting so that people want to return!) resulted in a strength in dialogue enabling her to convincingly write in a variety of genres from thriller to romance to comedy.

​

Her screenplay, Blurred Instinct, is currently under production with Riley Weston, Justin Jones and Evans Butterworth of Thriller Films and she’s had multiple option/shopping agreements made for her other works.

​

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband traveling up and down the Southeast coast in any season, even the hot and steamy summer.
